What to do if you can’t add the emoji keyboard back?
If the steps haven’t worked so far, try the troubleshooting tips below. There appears to be a problem in your software that is causing the problem.
Update your operating software
The emoji keyboard has been around for years, so it shouldn’t make much difference which version of iOS is running on your iPhone.
However, if these grinning yellow faces are still missing on your iPhone, you should make sure that you are up to date.
We run the latest software here at Apple ToolBox and have found that upgrading solves many problems, including no emojis!
Check under if you are up to date with the latest iOS Settings> General> Software update.
Reset the iPhone software
If you still don’t have emojis, you can reset your iPhone software. There are two ways to do this, which we will explain below.
It is highly recommended that you First make a backup copy of your iPhone,
- Go to Settings> General> Reset
- Choose one of the two options:
- Reset all settings
- Clear all content and settings
Reset all settings
This option keeps all apps, photos, videos, etc. on your iPhone and resets the settings to the default settings.
It’s best to try it first, as it won’t delete any of your content.
Clear all content and settings
This second option removes everything from your device and resets it to the factory settings.
It’s a safe way to reload the emoji keyboard on your iPhone, but you’ll need to restore it from a backup afterwards.
