As you read this article, you’ve considered canceling some of your magazine subscriptions on iTunes, but never got around or thought you could catch up on past issues on vacation. Most of us have these subscriptions and are slightly upset when the email from Apple says that the automatic subscription has been completed and our account has been charged.
These can be your Apple Music membership, newspaper subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, or other online memberships that are automatically renewed.
If the holidays have come and gone and you are still not done with past problems, follow these five simple steps to cancel them and save your money in the future.
Step 1. On your home screen Tap Settings, followed by iTunes and the App Store, If you don’t see the App and iTunes store in your settings, the restrictions may be enabled and you will need to change the restrictions when you visit Settings> General> Restrictions.
Step 2. On the next screen, tap your Apple ID and then tap Show Apple ID. Please enter your login details on the following screen.
Step 3. Scroll down to find SUBSCRIPTIONS, then tap Manage underneath.
Step 4. This will show all active subscriptions, and you can tap the magazines for which you want to turn off auto-renewal settings.
Step – 5 Slide automatic renewal to Off and confirm on the next screen.
If you’re using the Mac / Macbook, you can turn off auto-renewal options by going to iTunes> Account Information Settings and managing your subscriptions there.
If you don’t see a subscription in iTunes, make sure you’re signed in with the correct Apple ID. There is also the possibility that you have registered directly with the provider and not via iTunes. In this case, you will need to contact the content publisher or app developer directly to cancel your subscription.
iOS 12.1.4 / iOS 12.2 Manage subscriptions The easy way
If you are using the new iOS 12.1.4 or higher, you can save yourself a few steps by accessing “Manage subscriptions” directly from the App Store.
First discovered by Federico Viticci on Macstories, this is an easier way to directly access all of your subscriptions on your iPhone.
Please note that your membership will be renewed if you do not disable automatic renewal more than 8 hours before your renewal date.
We know this is a basic tip, but in the spirit it’s a good refresher if you re-open your subscriptions in auto-renew mode and keep only those subscriptions that you absolutely love and that you read regularly.
Please let us know via the comments any other tips you have to manage these subscriptions regularly.
