Hat Apple has postponed iPhone 6s sales in Turkey due to Ankara bombings

Apple had previously announced that the new iPhones will come to Turkey on October 16.

“IPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available on Friday, October 16, in India, Malaysia and Turkey and in over 130 countries by the end of the year,” said an Apple press release.

The devices will be released in Turkey on October 23.

Last weekend at least 97 people were killed in suicide bombings in Turkey. We have learned that this terrorist attack caused this delay. Apple has decided to postpone iPhone 6s sales to commemorate the victims.

In an email, an Apple representative told us the following:

“We decided to postpone iPhone 6s sales due to the tragic attacks last weekend.”

The Turkish government has set a day of national mourning.

The value of the Turkish lira has fallen recently. Apple recently raised prices for several products in Turkey. In fact, Apple Turkey raised prices for all Mac models yesterday.

The iPhone 6S costs 3099 TL (~ 1052 USD) for 16 GB in Turkey.
